ONE radiotherapy machine at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals has started displaying some error messages barely a month after being fixed, an official at the state owned institution has said.

In an interview with HealthTimes, Parirenyatwa’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr Edson Mundenda said it has been three weeks since the machines had been fixed.
With the radiotherapy machines, I can say it’s almost three weeks they have been running after we got that intervention from the ministry and also a bit of the money from the treasury. So they are functional,” he said.
He noted that one of them had been showing some faulty signs.
“However, one of the machines is now showing some error messages on the screen which means it may need some attention,” said Mr Mundenda adding they working towards getting it fixed.
Mr Mundenda said they await feedback on the quotation they requested from South African technicians.
“We have engaged the South African technicians to give us a quotation and we are still waiting,” he said.
Parirenyatwa has three radiotherapy machines with Mpilo Hospital having two. The machines at both hospital had been grounded for several months till got fixed recently.
